Intro

This is the first — blog posting for the Kankakee Area Macintosh User Group, which was founded in 1984.

Why you need to come to our User Group?
If you want to learn, share and make new friends — a KAMUG meeting can't be beat!  In this day of information overload, it's easy to get in a rut and fail to reach your potential.  When beginners thru experts attend, they always get answers to problems, see applications they had not imagined, and learn something new they can use to be more productive or simply have more fun.  Come to the meetings, enjoy the camaraderie and sample the refreshments.

Ecstatic Future —
Newcomers and members will find meeting notices; reports of what happened at meetings / workshops / seminars and information regarding the universe of Apple products:
iOS, Mac OS, Computers, iPads/Pods/Phones / TV's and the always
soon to be announced.

On the heals of a founder's passing...
News press, book publishers, Tv pundents and internet prognosticators are interpreting history and voicing their options regarding the future of Apple.  At this time, Apple is experiencing ever increasing sales, fantastic growth and a campus expansion (at the old HP computer site) that will be an architectual landmark in the annals of great design.

Hysterical History:
— well, not really, but we've been around a long time—just not as long as Apple, which started in the mid-1970's.  When the Mac came out in 1984, the affordable revolution got new wind in its sails and user groups like KAMUG helped create the new Macintosh world.
Though a paper newsletter and a partial website provided Mac information to the Kankakee and Iroquois county computer community, this is the first effort to provide ongoing information regarding our organization, its activities and the Apple universe — in blog format.

Meetings are open to the public.
